MADRID, December 2019
Dear colleagues and friends,

I never thought that we were going to strengthen the bonds of friendship by belonging to an association of a global nature like ours. However, I am surprised by the messages I receive of congratulation and encouragement from many of you. Also, thank you for the invitations to get to know your schools and universities in situ. I don’t know whether I will be able to visit everyone, but I am programming. I believe that personal exchanges improve us and allow all to transmit to each other our progress. Contact must be made through our secretary, Guilhaume, who coordinates the appropriate dates.

If you haven’t received yet, you will receive soon the new year 2020 Calendar, with the images of the 12 institutions that rushed to attend our call. We are sorry for those that were late. There are calendars at your disposal at the secretariat until exhausted.

The most important things of this year is that we have managed to regroup in the association and that the services, fees, congresses, monthly meetings of the Executive Board, and the quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors have been regularized. The 26th Congress in Istanbul has been a success and once again we congratulate Mr. Ali Dogan Çamak, the Vatel team, and the collaborators highlighting the University of Nisantasi that welcomed us, the Renaissance Hotels and the magnificent gala dinner at the Four Seasons Sultanahmet.

Our 31 new members claim our attention and I am willing to visit their schools.

We have just met with Mr. Ion Vilcu, Director of Affiliate Members of UNWTO and Ambassador of Romania, to propose a collaboration agreement that values our schools and titles. As stated at the 23rd General Assembly, the Secretary General, Zurab Pololikashvili, wants to enter training processes in each member country. With us we would have benefits of mutual prestige that is not easily achieved. You all know my idea that transversal associations can achieve global goals and solutions.

I confirm that we are working on 2 key projects:

  1. The sponsorship of international brands related to hospitality and tourism.
  2. The bi-monthly magazine that will create permanent support for the dissemination of our ideas and international advertising.
Do not hesitate to consider new initiatives so that this New Year, 2020, is prosperous and fruitful to our institutions. We will have our annual meeting from November 11 to 15 in The Netherlands thanks to the reception of Stenden University in Leeuwarden; and the work of its Director, Marco Ten Hoor, and his team. We will collaborate to make it an important congress in the new history of EURHODIP.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
